Melody Shuman

Melody ShumanMelody Shuman is a 5th degree black belt who has over 20 years of experience in the Martial Arts and 10 years experience in owning and operating a chain of martial art schools. She specializes in children’s martial arts education. Melody became interested in working with children when she worked for Disney during and right out of high school. Although she studied business in college, she dedicated most of her time to researching and developing effective children’s martial arts programs. Melody is also an American Taekwondo Association world champion and has over 37 world champion students.

Melody is well-know internationally for creating and presenting the Little Ninja program to the martial arts industry. She spent 3 years of her career as a consultant for the National Association of Professional Martial Artist to support the pre-school program. The Little Ninja program is currently operating in over 2000 schools world-wide with an estimated 40,000 ninjas actively participating.
Melody is also the creator of the highly accredited Age-specific curriculum series, The Future Kidz (3&4 and 5&6-year olds) and The Karate Kidz Zone series (7&8 and 9-12-year olds), along with the all new Leadership Team Program.

Melody is currently the CEO and Co-founder of Shuman Concepts, Inc., which is a web-based consulting company for the new millennium. Her goals for Shuman Concept members’ are to provide them with an electronic resource library with efficient, yet effective ideas to help enhance the growth of the martial arts industry.

Now, Shuman is back in the classroom to bring her innovation to a whole new level. On The Mat Martial Arts in St. Petersburg, Florida opened March 2005. This ground-breaking Martial Arts school will be the first of many licensed schools with the next generation of Martial Arts training and education. Her goal is to provide results-driven Martial Arts programs that make a difference.

Jill Johnson

Jill JohnsonJill Johnson has a strong background in business management, which extends to marketing and accounting. She has managed several businesses, including a partnership in one of the most innovative automotive web-based e-mail marketing companies in the nation. Her experience has since extended her knowledge in the martial arts field as President and Co-founder of Shuman Concepts, Inc.

Jill’s future goals include building strong alliances within the martial arts industry that will directly enhance the growth and development of individual martial arts businesses world wide. Her enthusiastic, yet articulate approach to good business ethics will help lead the way for many martial arts schools as we enter the next generation of professional consulting. Jill’s goals extend beyond the normal businessman as she heads Shuman Concepts in the most positive direction.

 

Bryan Hudson

Bryan HudsonOriginally from the Chicago area....Bryan Hudson studied Advertising Design at the Art Institute of Chicago before moving to Tampa to finish his degree and obtain an Associates degree in Graphic Design from the International Academy of Design & Technology. He has 10 years of experience in the design field and was "Senior Designer" for the National Association of Professional Martial Artists (NAPMA) for 6 years.

Bryan’s recent work includes the logo design of Shuman Concepts Karate Kidz Zone program; Website design of Shuman Concepts; and print design on various marketing tools used at the Shuman Concepts executive school, On the Mat Martial Arts.

Bryan was acquired by Shuman Concepts for his cutting-edge design skills and professionalism. He is currently the Graphic Designer for all Shuman Concepts material and customizes all Shuman Concepts marketing tools for its members. Theresa Carpenter

Theresa CarpenterTheresa has been part of the OTM staff for 2 years and will soon be one of the first black belt graduates. She has been training in the martial arts for over 3 years.

Theresa brings 12 years experience of working with children and has been instrumental in Shuman Concepts research and development of the age-specific programs. She has researched many of our programs and applies these techniques in the classes that she assists with everyday.
